OUR PASTOR
Rev. JaMarcus R. Bunn is a passionate servant leader with a divine calling to bridge the gap between younger and more seasoned generations. He is the second-born son of Ivra Bunn and a Durham, NC native. While in middle school, he accepted Christ, and ever since then, his journey with God has been one of tremendous growth and purpose.
Rev. Bunn believes that a call to ministry is a call to preparation. In May of 2018, he graduated with a Bachelor of Theology from the Apex School of Theology in Durham, NC. He then enrolled in Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC where he received his Master of Divinity in May of 2021. In further preparation for ministry, he had the privilege of serving as an Associate Minister of Temple Memorial Baptist church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Thomas A. Banister III.
Through the affirmation of his church family, he was ordained into Christian ministry through the historic Rowan Baptist Association in the summer of 2021. In late fall of 2022, he was elected Senior Pastor of Greater St. John Baptist Church in Asheboro, NC. Under his visionary and faithful leadership, the church experienced significant spiritual growth, an increase in membership, and notable advancements in technology and digital outreach. Rev. Bunn served with distinction until the spring of 2025.
In a full-circle moment, Temple Memorial Baptist Church elected Rev. Bunn in the summer of 2025 to return and serve as the seventh Senior Pastor.
Rev. Bunn is the husband of the brilliant and gifted Constance Staley Bunn, a dedicated Registered Nurse. With deep gratitude and unwavering faith, he continues to lead with conviction and compassion, trusting that God has a bright and purposeful future in store. A verse that continually inspires and sustains him is Romans 8:28: “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.
